Raise hand if your mom or grandmother made you eat kale when you were younger, and if you are anything like me, then you probably hate that horrible taste of kale that has been cooking for hours. I mean, why would anyone ever like that taste? No really, is it just me, or is there anyone else out there sharing this opinion? It wasn’t before I started eating the kale fresh when I started to see its good benefits to our bodies and health. I love it in salads, I love it (hidden) in meatballs, I love it baked in all kinds of casseroles, and I especially love it in green smoothie.
Why Kale is Good For You?
If you didn’t know, kale is among the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. It is packed with vitamins A, K, C and B6, and minerals like Manganese, Calcium, Copper, Potassium and Magnesium. It is also full of antioxidants and can help you lower cholesterol, therefore it is good for all the functions in your organism. If you want to learn more about the benefits that you are getting from eating kale I recommend you to read this article from Kris Gunnars, BSc – 10 Health Benefits of Kale, published on www.healthline.com .
Green Smoothie is healthy
Green smoothie is one of the best ways to take fresh kale, because the blender is extracting everything out of kale leaves, and all the nutrients, vitamins and fiber are much easier for our bodies to digest and use to be more beautiful and healthy.
There are many reasons why you should be making yourself a green smoothie. I know that my reason for making a green smoothie is because it is so delicious and healthy, and yet it doesn’t taste like kale at all. When I am preparing green smoothie, I always use banana and some other fruits, and for the green part I put some spinach, kale or beet leaves. All of those will give different, yet unique and fresh taste.
