Green smoothies are THE BEST! We all know that they are healthy, and make us feel better. But, there are also people (read: kids) who won’t even look at it, just because they are green. So is there a way to make green smoothies stop being so green? That really sounds like a silly question, but there actually is a cure for the greenness. Here is the recipe for the green blueberry smoothie, that has lovely purple color, but is also full of green.

One day I was sitting in my backyard, sipping (and ENJOYING!) my nectarine and kale green smoothie. The neighbor was passing by with her dog and asked me “what is that disgusting green thing you are drinking?”. To be totally honest, I was surprised she asked me that. My smoothie was actually really delicious and had an amazing bright green color. When I told her what it was, she was even more disgusted cause she hated even the thought of raw kale.
And even though I loved my green smoothie, I started thinking about all the people who just won’t even try that amazing healthy drink.
But as I said, there is a solution. The only way to cover up the green color of the kale or spinach is to add dark barries. In this case, I am using some of the frozen wild blueberries that I always keep in my freezer. But you can also use blackberries or the berry mix. I really LOVE this dark purple color of my green blueberry smoothie. It looks sooo YUMMY! ♡
