Side dishes can become boring sometimes, especially a plain white rice. So a little bit of creativity can make a regular side dish exciting. That is how I came up with this clove and parsley white rice recipe.

For making this rice dish, you can use any kind of long grain white rice that you want. If you are using a brown rice you will need to adjust the cooking time. I like using Basmati rice for this particular recipe because it has really nice mild plain flavor. The cloves are the ones that flavor the rice with their pungent and strong taste.

The parsley, on the other hand, should not be confused as just a garnish to this dish. It actually gives freshness and balance, and a lettuce-like crunch. That will help you create a versatile menu with this dish.
To make your fluffy clove and parsley white rice, all you need to do is cook the rice with some cloves in it. When you’re ready to serve stir in some fresh chopped parsley, and your “different” rice side dish is DONE!
